Hi Anonymous, R/3 is kind of ERP software which covers all needs of big enterprises to run their business. It has a so called modules: FI, CO, MM, SD, HR, PS, PP, PM for every particular area of business.SAP NetWeaver is technology platform for SAP components which integrates these area in more sophisticated ways like: process, information etc. accorss organization. See my other posts on this blog like here.Within NetWeaver you can work with modules (FI, CO, ..) e.g. in case of ECC software as NetWeaver is platform where these modeles run.If you want to use NetWeaver for learning it you can download it for free as time limited preview version (sometimes called miniSAP) but this version has no modules installed. It is just technology platform without any business functionality.
Since SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 patch 3 we support the 32 bitversion of the Microsoft Office 2013. The use of the 32 bit versionof Microsoft Office 2013 is also supported on 64 bit versions ofthe operating system.

This will open up a second browser tab or window. In that window you will usually see six different options for a patch to download. Three of them will be for the latest available patch, and three for the most recent previous patch that is still supported (there will likely have been patches in between that are no longer recommended for use). Unless otherwise advised by SAP Customer Support, always go for the latest available patch (patch 46 as of this writing).
Look carefully at the names of the patch files. The patch number (46 in this example) will be fairly obvious, but the P1/P2/P3 distinction requires looking for the label embedded in the patch title or filename. The filename will follow the format SAPSETUP90PxSP00P_xx-20008539.EXE. The first x is the P1/2/3 number, and the second xx is the patch number (46). In this example, we will choose SAPSETUP90P2SP00P_46-20008539.EXE. Add it to your download basket.
A brief side note about the download page title for Windows Server on IA32 32bit. It does not matter whether your Installation Server is installed on a 32-bit or 64-bit server, and it does not matter whether your workstations are running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. The SAPGUI is a 32-bit application (at this time) and will run fine in either environment. So, even though you may be planning for all 64-bit environments, the 32-bit download is still appropriate.
This will take you to the Downloads page, and there will be a long list of available patches. Again, it takes some careful consideration to find exactly the right patch to download. For instance, you will again see most or all of the patches in a PDB version and a non-PDB version. You do not need the PDB files at this time, so you may ignore those. You will see various GUI patch levels (currently from 0 through 9) as well as hotfixes for some of the patch levels. The patches and hotfixes are all cumulative, so you only need one file. The hotfixes are typically listed before the core patches, so you must scan the list to see if the latest core patch has a hotfix for it or not. In this example, the latest patch is 9, and there is no hotfix for it, although you can see that patch 8 has hotfix 1 available. Here, you would normally choose patch 9, but if it were not yet available, you would choose patch 8 hotfix 1, and not patch 8 without the hotfix.
Previously we discussed basic prerequisites and assumptions, defined some general terms, located official documentation and helpful blogs, and downloaded all the installation and patch files required for our Installation Server. Now we will move on to the initial installation of our server.
The connection data for SAPGUI is stored in a file called saplogon.ini, and additional data about how connections are organized and displayed in SAP Logon is stored in SapLogonTree.xml. Depending on options you set within SAPGUI or SAP Logon, there may be other configuration files as well, but these two are the ones of primary concern. By default, when SAPGUI 7.30 (or 7.20) is installed on a Windows 7 system, these two files will be created in:
SAPGUI 7.30 offers a better way. It is now possible to store saplogon.ini and SapLogonTree.xml in a shared location on a server and configure SAP Logon on the workstation to use these shared files instead of the local ones. This means that all users are always using one version of the truth as defined by you, the system administrator. If you need to distribute a landscape change, you only need to edit one set of files in one location, and all users will immediately see the change without having to do anything on their workstations.
So, in our example where we are distributing SAPGUI 7.30 Compilation 3 with Patch 8 Hotfix 1, and not having made subsequent changes to our Package such that it is in version 1, the switch value would be:
Has anyone ever used powershell with SAP Front End? I am trying to build a script that creates a user in SAP GUI 7.30 and then assigns roles to the user. Does anyone ahve any reading material where I can learn this? I have looked all over the internet but can not find anywhere to start. Thanks in advance!
I am currently wroking on a self-service packaged download on my companies intranet to update our employees SAPGUI's to 7.30 from past versions. We want our customers to be able to go to our web link, download the package and then install it at their leisure instead of pushing out the update to everyone automatically. The problem that we have is when we try to install the package remotely from a non-administrator computer we get this NwSapSetup error:
We know that our LSH (Local Security Handling) is properly setup since we are able to download and install the package on the same non-administrator computer by the command line. However command-line installation is not how we want to push out this update since we have users all over the US/World and for them to connect to our Installation Server and download takes 30+ minutes instead of the 3-4 minutes locally.
When I now start the GUI on a client (Windows 7, SAP GUI 7.30 SP 0) and try to get an upgrade notification from the server (open it max. 10 times), nothing happens. I first though this is caused by the missing share so I created a .bat to get a share with "net use":
I have recently upgraded to SAP GUI 7.30 SP05 and the only problem I have found is that the immediate history is not working. It was previously working in 7.20, but since the upgrade it no longer works.
We are upgrading our ECC system and going to SAP GUI 7.30. Testing has confirmed that if a user mistyped their password, on the next successful logon the 7.30 GUI automatically issues a "failed logon attempts" message. Applications would like this message disabled before we go live.
I've looked at note 1580875, which is for 7.31. That note appears to talk about options in the Signature Design theme. I can replicate the message on my system, I confirmed that I am not using the Signature Design theme, and the Signature Design theme in 7.30 does not appear to have the referenced options. The note also shows the parameters should be included as of Support Pack SAPKB73102. We are at SAPKB73105.
